A Day of Mindfulness

This experiential workshop will offer user-friendly techniques for dealing with stress in our lives and for cultivating our deepest potential for living a full and satisfying life. The (MBSR) Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program is a well-recognized approach which has been shown to be effective in reducing stress, depression and anxiety; enhancing communication and health; fostering courage in difficult situations and supporting overall well-being. The day will include an introduction to the theory of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, guided instruction in mindfulness practices used in MBSR (body scan, sitting and walking meditation, mindful hatha yoga), and discussion of the benefits and applications of mindfulness in daily life.

 

Please remember to bring a sack lunch, drinks will be provided. Wear loose clothing and you are welcome to bring any personal matt or meditation pillow, although yoga matts and zafus will be provided.
 
This quarterly repeating workshop is FREE to all current attending MBSR participants and is discounted for all returning graduates of any East Texas Stress Clinic workshops/classes.
